About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Float Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in Critical Care License: Current valid nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Arterial line management - Management of BiPAP and CPAP - Care of Ventilated Patient - Central line care/management - Isolation Precautions/Use of PPE - Management of dysrhythmias - Starting IVs - Suctioning (ETT, NT) - Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips Description: These positions will be hospital float pool staff. Expectations include floating throughout the hospital, including the Emergency Department. Every other weekend coverage is required. No call is necessary. Floating will occur within facility/scope of practice as needed. Compliance is required to start on time. If not compliant, there may be a push back of two weeks. If one major holiday occurs during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays occur, the traveler is expected to work both. If three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day. Supervisory references are preferred for the application process. Candidates are required to be available to submit core items and complete labs promptly. Local candidates are accepted with no change in rate. Candidates must have previous charge experience and be comfortable with the patient ratio. Charting experience with the required system is necessary for this role. Travel experience is a plus. Travelers who are unable to return to a facility must complete one successful assignment outside of the organization prior to rebooking. Modules are non-billable and completed during orientation. Modules will vary by specialty and are recorded via transcripts.
