About the Role:

The Painter Helper position at our Houston Store is a vital support role that ensures painting projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard. The primary goal is to assist skilled painters by preparing work areas, mixing paints, and handling materials and tools, thereby enabling smooth and timely project execution. This role contributes directly to maintaining the quality and appearance of both interior and exterior surfaces in various settings. The Painter Helper will work closely with the painting team to learn techniques and safety protocols, fostering professional growth within the trade. Ultimately, this position supports the overall success of painting operations by providing reliable and effective assistance throughout each project phase.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing, and climbing for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of painting tools and materials.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a painting or construction helper role.
• Familiarity with different types of paints, primers, and surface preparation techniques.
• Basic knowledge of color mixing and matching.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking areas as directed.
• Mix and match paint colors according to specifications and assist in applying primers and paints.
• Set up and maintain painting equipment, tools, and supplies to ensure readiness and safety.
• Assist painters in moving and positioning ladders, scaffolding, and drop cloths to facilitate work.
• Clean work areas and tools after completion of painting tasks to maintain a safe and organized environment.
• Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and report any issues or material needs.

Skills:

The Painter Helper uses physical stamina and manual dexterity daily to assist with surface preparation and paint application tasks. Attention to detail is essential when mixing paints and masking areas to ensure a clean and professional finish.
