Job Title: Excavator Operator

Job Description

Operate excavators for trenching and underground pipe installation. Read grades, dig trenches to specification, maintain trench safety, and perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance. Assist the crew with pipe placement and other site tasks while communicating effectively with the foreman and team members.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators for trenching and underground pipe installation.
• Read and interpret grades to dig trenches according to specifications.
• Maintain trench safety during operations.
• Perform daily inspections and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist the crew with pipe placement and various site tasks.
• Communicate efficiently with the foreman and team members.

Essential Skills

• Solid experience in operating excavators in heavy construction.
• Experience in deep trench utility work.
• Ability to read and interpret grades.
• Effective communication skills with crew members.
• Valid driver's license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with construction, pipe laying, and pipe fitting.
• Familiarity with PVC, hand tools, and heavy equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Experience in excavation, civil work, threading, welding, installation, piping, storm, and wastewater management.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Georgetown, DE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $37.00/hr.
